On the sanitary condition of the territories

12/04/2024 14:04
The results of supervisory activities carried out by the Stolin Regional Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology this year indicate that at almost every third facility there are violations of the sanitary condition of the territories.
Over the past period of the year, specialists from the Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology assessed the sanitary condition of the territories of 236 objects, of which violations were identified in 99 territories. The most frequently identified facts were contamination of territories with household waste and unsatisfactory maintenance of container sites. There were also cases of unauthorized disposal of waste and unsatisfactory maintenance of public areas adjacent to various facilities and individual households of citizens. Despite the opportunities available to agricultural entities to organize the collection and removal of solid waste, some farms allow unauthorized disposal of solid waste. There is no control and modernity of cleaning, emptying bins, and mowing weeds at public transport stops. I would like to draw attention to the maintenance of the areas around empty buildings that are on the balance sheet of business entities: they are overgrown with weeds and bushes, where the population often carries garbage. A similar situation is observed at transformer substations. The identified violations indicate that not all land users pay due attention to the maintenance of public areas of settlements assigned to them to carry out work to maintain proper sanitary condition.
Over the past period of 2024 alone, administrative measures have already been taken against 10 business entities for violations of the requirements of sanitary and epidemiological legislation, including the maintenance of territories.
The regulation on the procedure for determining the size (limits) of the territories of public lands in settlements to carry out work to maintain their proper sanitary condition, approved by Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus dated July 22, 2020 No. 430, establishes the procedure for determining the size of the territories of public lands in settlements, including including land plots adjacent to those provided to legal entities, individual entrepreneurs and land plots adjacent to those provided to citizens, to carry out work to maintain the proper sanitary condition of the relevant territories.
In accordance with these requirements, legal entities, individual entrepreneurs and citizens who are owners of land plots must ensure the maintenance of proper sanitary conditions in the areas adjacent to the land plots, including cleaning and removing debris from the areas, pruning, mowing and removing waste when performing work. for the care of landscaping objects, collection, separation by type and disposal of municipal waste.
As part of the spring beautification month and the republican cleanup day, the state institution “Stolin District Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology” invites business entities and residents of the district to take an active part in establishing order, both in the territories of their own households and in the public areas adjacent to them.
Supervision of the sanitary condition of the territories by the sanitary and epidemiological service of the district will continue.
