A complete ban on visiting forests has been imposed in the Stolin District.

04/05/2026 12:05
Due to the persistent dry and hot weather in the district, a fire hazard class of IV has been established. By decision of the Stolin District Executive Committee, an official BAN on visiting forested areas has been imposed. Why is this necessary? The forest floor is currently extremely dry—any spark, cigarette butt, or faulty motorcycle muffler can instantly cause a large-scale fire. Statistics confirm that in 90% of cases, humans are the culprit. Patrols have been increased in the forests, and barriers and warning signs have been installed. Penalty: Violating the ban is punishable by a fine of up to 12 basic units (Article 16.21 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Belarus). Where to report a fire: If you notice smoke or fire, immediately call: 101 — Ministry of Emergency Situations; 8 (01655) 6-46-39 — forest protection service of the Polesie forestry enterprise. We ask citizens to be understanding of the restrictions and monitor the situation on the Ministry of Forestry's interactive map.
