A large-scale campaign to install an autonomous fire alarm has been launched. Fire doesn't choose its time, but most often it strikes suddenly – under the cover of night, when people are most vulnerable. Sleep dulls vigilance, and acrid smoke is insidious: just a few inhalations are enough to keep a person awake. However, there is a simple and affordable solution that can become a personal "guardian" in every home – an autonomous fire alarm (AFA). On April 3, a large-scale information campaign was launched in the republic, the goal of which is to remind everyone of the vital importance of installing an AFA. Statistics are stubborn, and when it comes to fire safety, they speak in favor of the alarm. The AFA is recognized as one of the most effective means of early fire detection. Since 2002, when this device began to be widely deployed in our country, the lives of 2,845 people have been saved. Last year alone, thanks to the alarm's piercing signal, 67 people, including 14 children, were saved. In the first three months of 2026, 46 people, including 8 children, were saved. The best proof of the effectiveness of the AFI are the operational reports of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
