April 2026: What's New for Belarusians? At the beginning of the second month of spring, a number of important changes will come into effect in Belarus, affecting business trips, occupational safety, and employment and leisure. 1. Business trips will become more expensive: Starting April 4, daily allowances for workers on business trips within Belarus will increase from 12 to 13 rubles. In addition, the rules for reimbursing housing expenses during business trips have been adjusted. 2. New rules for working at height: The criteria by which work is classified as "work at height" have been changed. This limit is now set at 1.8 meters (previously 1.3 meters). Requirements for work in unsupported spaces, including the use of rope access systems, have also been clarified. 3. Job fairs across the country: From April 13 to 17, large-scale youth job fairs will be held in every regional center and large cities (with a population of over 50,000). In smaller towns, similar events will be organized over two days. This is an excellent opportunity for young professionals and graduates to find their first job. 4. Production calendar and long weekend: The workday of Monday, April 20, will be moved to Saturday, April 25. This is to give Belarusians the opportunity to rest for four consecutive days: from April 18 to 21. 5. National cleanup day: On April 18, a national cleanup day will be held across the country. Traditionally, on this day, citizens will participate in the improvement of their towns and territories.
