Expensive flowers: how much does an unauthorized front garden cost?

 Unauthorized landscaping of the courtyard of an apartment building is considered a violation and can cost up to 25 basic units (1,125 BYN). To act legally, you must: 1. Obtain written consent from all neighbors in the building. 2. Submit an application to the housing office or housing and communal services and wait for official permission from the authorities. 3. Keep your distance: the flowerbed must be at least 5 meters from the house and 1.5 meters from the paths. Important to remember: • Plants must not be planted over underground utilities. • Using old tires for decoration is prohibited - this also carries a separate fine. • After approval, residents must care for the flowerbed themselves.
