How to exchange "Property" vouchers for shares in open joint-stock companies

14/07/2026 14:07
The validity period for registered privatization "Property" vouchers is set until December 31, 2030. Holders of "Property" vouchers have the opportunity to exercise the right, as provided by privatization legislation, to participate in the gratuitous privatization of state property. The only way to use vouchers for their intended purpose today is to exchange them for state-owned enterprise shares. Shares can be exchanged for "Property" vouchers at any branch of Belarusbank JSC that performs this operation (in the Brest region, this is Branch No. 100/1029 in Brest, 94 Kosmonavtov Boulevard, as well as banking service centers in all district centers of the region). When contacting the bank, the buyer must present a Belarusian passport and a "Property" voucher certificate. When exchanging shares, citizens have the right to use checks issued to them personally, those inherited (without a quantity limit), and those received under gift agreements from close relatives (up to a total of 250 checks, provided that only checks issued to these individuals are gifted). By purchasing shares, a citizen becomes a shareholder of the relevant joint-stock company and, in accordance with the law, is granted the right to participate in the company's management, receive information about the company's activities, and sell, donate, and inherit shares. Further information on the procedure for using "Property" checks is available on the website of the Brest Regional Executive Committee (www.brest-region.gov.by, section "Brestoblimushchestvo Committee" / "Reference Information" / "Exchange of Shares for "Property" IPC).
