In Memory of Burned Villages

The traditional "In Memory of Burned Villages" motor rally kicked off in the Stolin district. The event featured public associations, parties, trade unions, organizations, and students. It began in the workers' settlement of Rechitsa, where the "In Memory of Burned Villages" sculpture was unveiled. It has become a symbol of eternal mourning for the 15,000 victims of fascism and the 44 destroyed settlements of the Stolin region. The monument, a skeletal stove with black crows soaring into the sky, commemorates the tragedy of Khatyn's "sister" village of Voroni and other settlements.
