Today we celebrate this sacred date—82 years ago our city was liberated from the occupiers. On this day, we bow our heads before the heroic deeds of the heroes who gave us the right to life. On July 7th, 1944, during the Pinsk Offensive Operation, troops of the 1st Belorussian Front under the command of Marshal K. Rokossovsky brought freedom to the land of Stolin. Interesting fact: partisans of the Lenin Brigade played a crucial role in the liberation of the city, preventing the bombing of key strategic facilities, preventing the enemy from reducing Stolin to ruins. The Stolin region paid a huge price for peace: 15,000 civilians killed, 44 villages burned, and thousands of fellow countrymen who never returned from the front. We honor the memory of those who fell in Stasino, Khinovsk, Voroni, and Lenin Square. This is our shared pain and our eternal memory. Happy holiday, dear fellow countrymen! We wish every family health, prosperity, and peaceful skies. May our Stolin prosper, and may the memory of our ancestors' heroism inspire us to good deeds for the benefit of our native Belarus!
