The Ministry of Emergency Situations has warned Belarusians of fines of 225 and 2,250 rubles for grass burning. What's important to know? According to rescuers, burning dry vegetation, standing grass, stubble, and crop residues is strictly prohibited. Such actions fall under Article 16.40 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Belarus. According to this article, Belarusians face fines of 10 to 30 basic units (450-1,350 rubles). Important: this applies to field fires or failure to take measures to eliminate them on land plots. "Furthermore, in cases where such actions result in damage on an especially large scale, criminal liability may also apply. This is also prohibited at dachas and near houses. Furthermore, fire safety regulations prohibit burning dry vegetation in the areas adjacent to houses, as well as in areas allocated for gardening or dacha construction. In this case, liability arises under Article 24.36 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Belarus, the sanctions of which provide for a fine of up to 5 basic units (225 rubles). Important: if the violation results in a fire, destruction, or damage to someone else's property, the fine may increase to 30 basic units (1,350 rubles). And for a repeat violation within a year, the fine is even higher: from 10 to 50 basic units (450-2,250 rubles).
