THE XIV REPUBLICAN FESTIVAL OF NATIONAL CULTURES WILL BE HELD IN GRODNO ON JUNE 7-9

This is the XIV Republican Festival. It starts this Friday and will run for three days. Two days - in Grodno, and the third day - Sunday - will be hosted by the Augustow Canal. By the way, it celebrates its 200th anniversary this year. More than 850 participants are expected at the festival.

Locations for 19 farmsteads have been identified. Representatives of 36 nationalities will come to Grodno. Participants will show their traditions, culture, costumes, cuisine and craftsmanship.

For the first time, people from Argentina, Buryatia, Mongolia, Egypt, Cameroon, Nigeria and Pakistan will present themselves. The program promises to be very eventful.

The entire historical center of Grodno was dedicated to the celebrations. Guests of the festival will enjoy numerous concerts of amateur and professional groups, creative associations of Belarusians abroad and foreign students. Over the course of three days, you will not only be able to get acquainted with the culture and traditions of diasporas, taste the national cuisines of different peoples of the world, but also take part in numerous plein airs, round tables and exhibitions. The highlight of the first day of the festival will be the traditional theatrical procession. It has been compared to the Brazilian carnival.

A large-scale procession of representatives of national cultures is planned, which will take place from Dzerzhinsky Street to Sovetskaya Square. The opening ceremony of the festival will begin here at 21:00, followed by a gala concert. The gala concert and the work of all thematic venues this year will be dedicated to the theme of family.

The attention of townspeople and festival guests will be attracted by the work of the mobile complex of the Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War "Road of Memory", the exhibition fair "City of Masters". And in Kolozha Park, the Alley of Friendship will be replenished with new trees, which will be planted by Argentines, Mongolians, Nigerians and representatives of other nationalities participating in the festival for the first time.
