From March 20 to May 18 in the Brest and Gomel regions, from April 1 to May 30 in the Minsk, Mogilev and Grodno regions, as well as the city of Minsk, from April 10 to June 8 in the Vitebsk region by the State Inspectorate for the Protection of Flora and Fauna under the President The Republic of Belarus is holding a special complex event “Spawning” (hereinafter referred to as SCM “Spawning”) aimed at:
– strengthening control over compliance by citizens and legal entities with legal requirements in the fishing grounds of the Republic of Belarus;
– removal of nets and other prohibited fishing gear from illegal trafficking;
– intensifying work with the local population, law enforcement and environmental authorities;
– carrying out large-scale preventive work among the population in order to prevent violations of the law.
As part of the SCM “Nesting”, employees of the Stolin Interdistrict Inspectorate for the Protection of Fauna and Plants visit institutions, work groups, conduct door-to-door visits and explain to citizens:
– on the implementation of the SCM “Nesting” by the State Inspectorate for the Protection of Fauna and Plants under the President of the Republic of Belarus, its preventive focus;
– about the biological characteristics of fish behavior during spawning, the need for their protection during this period;
– on permitted (prohibited) recreational fishing gear during the spawning period;
– on the procedure for the use of small boats by citizens for personal purposes;
– on the ban on storage and sale of prohibited fishing gear and established liability (the possibility of exemption from administrative liability);
– about legal requirements and stipulated responsibilities.
