Ban on fishing for common pike!
The Stolin Interdistrict Inspectorate for the Protection of Fauna and Plants informs that from March 1 to April 15 in the fishing grounds of the Brest, Gomel, Grodno, Minsk and Mogilev regions, from March 9 to April 23 in the fishing grounds of the Vitebsk region, fishing for common pike is prohibited.
In terms of spawning time, pike is ahead of all spring-spawning fish in Belarus. Its spawning occurs at shallow depths in the coastal zone of reservoirs, as well as on the floodplains of rivers and streams. During the period of spawning, pike becomes especially vulnerable, loses its vigilance and becomes easy prey for unscrupulous fishermen.
The prohibition established by law helps create favorable conditions for its reproduction. At the same time, the preservation and maintenance of this species at an optimal level largely depends on the consciousness of citizens. A pike accidentally caught during the ban period must be immediately released into its natural habitat (directly to the place where it was caught).
The law is harsh on those who violate it. Catching pike during the ban entails administrative liability under Part 1 of Art. 16.25 of the Code of the Republic of Belarus on administrative offenses in the form of a fine from 10 to 30 b.v. You will also have to pay damages in the amount of 9 b.v. for every fish caught.
In case of damage in the amount of 100 b.v. criminal liability already arises under Art. 281 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus.
We also remind you of the ban on recreational fishing
on the river section Goryn until April 15.
In accordance with Resolution of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection No. 6 of January 19, 2013, an annual ban on recreational fishing in the river section was established. Goryn in the Stolin region, from October 1 to April 15:
– from the Dubrava fish hatchery to the Berezhnoe-Rubel crossing bridge, 7 km long.
– from the apiary of the agricultural production complex "New Pripyat" to the confluence with the Pripyat River.
Violations of this prohibition will be classified as violations of the rules of fishing and fishing. In case of illegal fishing during the ban period, the violator will have to compensate for the damage caused to the environment in three times the amount for each individual of illegally caught fish (base value - 40 rubles).
In addition, the violator will be punished in the form of an administrative fine - from 10 to 30 basic units, and in the case of illegal mining in the amount of 100 or more basic units, a criminal case may be opened.
