Belarusian schools will introduce a single career guidance day, said Andrei Ivanets, the Minister of Education of Belarus, in an interview with STV TV channel.

"This year we are introducing a single career guidance day in all general secondary education institutions. This is the last Saturday of each month. It is supposed to not just hold lectures, stories, classes, the arrival of relevant representatives of not only colleges, universities, but also enterprises of the real sector of the economy to the school, the exit of our children, schoolchildren to enterprises. After all, it is very important that today young people who study at school can see with their own eyes the future place of work that they can come to if they choose engineering and technical specialties," Andrei Ivanets noted.

The Minister said that this year, engineering classes will graduate for the first time. Such graduates have preferences when entering universities.

Andrei Ivanets also noted that the Ministry of Education is implementing a corresponding program at each level of education in the Year of Quality in order to reach a qualitatively new level. In particular, the programs in preschool education have been almost completely revised.

"The priority is, of course, preparing our youngest pupils for school, for cultivating a respectful attitude towards our country," the minister said.

At the level of general secondary education, all tenth-graders began to study a new subject that did not exist before - "History of Belarus in the Context of World History." This is an integrated discipline that is designed not only to provide historical knowledge, but also to form a worldview, pride in the history of the country.

"We pay great attention to working with our gifted students. This year, our schoolchildren brought 56 medals from international subject Olympiads in a whole block of natural science disciplines. We showed the highest results in the entire history of sovereign Belarus," the minister noted.
