In Belarus, starting March 23, driver’s licenses are issued for a period of 20 years, and the procedure itself will be carried out faster. The corresponding innovations are provided for by Decree No. 55, signed on February 16. The document was previously posted on the National Legal Internet Portal.

The traffic police say that increasing the period of issued driver's licenses will help reduce the burden on registration departments and motorists.
Also among the innovations is a reduction in the time frame for issuing driving licenses - from 5 to 3 working days. Registration of vehicles with the State Traffic Inspectorate will also be completed faster: it will take 7 days, not 10, as before.
For a vehicle that has not previously been registered on the territory of the EAEU member states, an electronic passport is required. The procedure will be carried out by Beltamozhservice.
The changes also affected the procedure for issuing permission to allow a vehicle to participate in road traffic. The corresponding initiative came from the Ministry of Transport and Communications. Now, when carrying out such a procedure, you will no longer need a driver’s license and insurance certificate.
For cars whose year of manufacture has passed less than 3 years (up to 3 years), then permits for admission to participation in road traffic will be issued for 3 years.
