On March 26, the nationwide campaign “Razam z mastatstvam” started on the stage of the sports and cultural center of the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts, BELTA correspondent reports.
The event is held by the Youth Variety Theater with the support of the Ministry of Culture and is timed to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders and the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War.
“Today is a special event, which will become a highlight in the general republican action and will serve to preserve and popularize the memory and historical truth about the feat of the Belarusian, Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War, will pay tribute to the memory of our veterans, heroes of the Great Victory,” said the deputy chief Department - Head of the Department of State Special Cultural Events of the Ministry of Culture Inna Adamovich. She noted that the campaign began last year and was carried out in all corners of the country from April to November. A huge number of cultural and artistic figures and representatives of talented youth took part in over 35 events of the action.
The director of the Youth Variety Theater Sergei Medvedev asked young people not to forget about all the terrible events that occurred during the war period. “It’s your turn, you will carry on to the next generations the memory of how this victory and the liberation of the small cozy country in which we live today under a peaceful sky were achieved,” Sergei Medvedev addressed the youth.
During the nationwide event, Belarusian cultural and artistic figures will visit more than 33 dialogue platforms throughout the country. Young pop artists who have already gained fame will perform patriotic compositions, share stories and memories of their loved ones about the feat of the Belarusian people during the “Our Stories of War Heroes” campaign, and also study the history of the liberation of each of the regions visited through dialogue with the audience. There will also be organized creative thematic exhibitions of drawings, photographs, panels, thematic photo zones, installations, exhibits of the historical museum, and the WWII museum room, which anyone can visit.
The action will help talk about the contribution of the Belarusian people, Belarusian cultural and artistic figures in the fight against the Nazi invaders, pay tribute to the participants in the war and remember their heroic ancestors.
