On September 24, a Unified Safety Day will be held throughout the republic, including in the Stolin District, to prevent emergencies, offenses, and crimes. The main objectives of the event are to train employees in fire and emergency response procedures, as well as first aid (self-help and mutual aid), including before the arrival of emergency services (rescuers, medical workers, and police). The heads of enterprises and organizations, regardless of ownership, play a key role in organizing and implementing the event. They are the primary implementers of the Unified Safety Day at their locations. On this day, EMERCOM employees will visit a number of organizations to provide advisory assistance on training exercises, including fire evacuation. In collaboration with interested services and organizations in the district, rescuers will organize thematic training sites for the public in crowded areas. At these sites, anyone interested will be able to gain practical knowledge and skills necessary for safe behavior in emergency situations. In particular, a thematic area will be organized in the park of culture and recreation in the city of Stolin, which will be open from 11:00 to 13:00. On January 27, 2013, a fire at the Kiss nightclub (Santa Maria, Brazil) killed 239 people. And on March 25, 2018, a fire at the Zimnyaya Vishnya shopping center (Kemerovo, Russia) killed more than 60 people, including 37 children, and injured approximately 80 others. The causes and conditions that led to such a large number of casualties were errors during evacuation and panic. In the Republic of Belarus, fires with such tragic consequences have not occurred; however, the issue of properly evacuating people from public buildings during a fire is always relevant. Fires occur annually at the facilities of organizations in the republic. Thus, in the first 8 months of 2026, 399 fires occurred at organizational facilities (excluding transport and residential buildings), resulting in 10 deaths and 41 injuries.
