 Winter Dangers. Winter isn't just about holidays, snowball fights, and sledding. It also means icy conditions, frostbite, falling icicles, uncontrollable snow tubes, and many other threats to life and health. It's been proven that freezing weather is 17 times more dangerous than hot weather. In cold weather, the body reduces blood flow to the extremities, which increases blood pressure and puts strain on the heart. We spoke with Alexander Vyborny, Head of the Emergency Response and Search Department at the Belarusian Red Cross and a first aid instructor, about how to avoid unpleasant situations and what to do if a disaster happens to you or you witness it.
